Great hotel to explore the old town, less than 5 minutes to the Royal Mile, helpful staff and good breakfast at a reasonable price

Really enjoyed our stay. Great location. Nice pubs and eateries close by. Not having phone chargers and sockets at bedside I felt was out of sorts for a modern hotel. My wife had a lead and socket on her side. I had a charger in the opposite corner under a shelf beside a wardrobe. Hidden. Only my wife copped it when plugging in the hairdryer we wouldn’t have noticed it. Minor crib I know. But easily sorted for future guests.

Check in was prompt. The room was as expected, clean with a pleasant view. Breakfast was lovely and the hotel is within walking distance of pretty much all the sights. My only issue was that late at night I was occasionally awakened by noise however subtle that I expect was coming from a nearby nightclub . Otherwise my stay went well. Staff are very helpful.

The hotel is basic but with a great location. The staff were very helpful. Unfortunately our room had been smoked in and there were no other room options, and the windows were not able to be opened as the "key was missing". But overall, fine

If you like absolute dumps, this is the hotel for you. The hotel is filthy. Lobby carpet and chairs stained, scuffs on seemingly every wall, only one elevator works. The hotel claims that the cleaners only work between 3 and 5 p.m., so when you check in at 3 p.m. there's dozens of people waiting to get into their rooms. And those that are already guests of the hotel, get the joy of touring all day and coming home to get ready for dinner only to discover the room has not been cleaned. Even when you request cleaning they don't come. When they do, they leave hairs everywhere, dust on mirrors, don't replace cups etc. And if you love pulsating bass, you are going to love the stay here because did I mention the hotel is over two nightclubs and that you will feel vibrations all night long? When you are up in the wee hours of the morning because of said nightclub, you may want to text a friend back home, but alas, there are not even plugs beside the bed, so good luck. Also, front desk could not give a flying fluff and act like even the most basic of requests are huge impositions. Incredible blight on the Ibis brand. Do not stay.
