This is advertised as the better hotel for Yale, however the area wasn’t ideal. It was very noisy both outside and inside the hotel at night. Not a great night sleep- unfortunately. Taxi drivers advised against walking around the area for safety.

I would give this a 5 star review, but the AC in the room would stay on 73 degrees. Even after changing in to 68, it would reset back to 73.

Friendly staff, clean room and ideal for Yale. Air con was a little noisy. A little frustrating that the sofa bed wasn’t made up even though the room booking was for 3. But they sorted it when we asked at reception.

The bathroom in Room 411 was in shabby with peeling ceiling paint and mold in the shower tiles. The staff upon arrival was a bit rude. But the morning staff was cheerful, polite, and helpful. Staff should know more about the immediate area for places to eat. The Maison Cafe up the street is a good option if the hotel is not a good option for people or people dont have cash to go next door. Staff should know more about the New Gaven Green Line that is free to go around the inner city of New Haven. The staff should offer a map of New Haven to its guests or put one in the rooms. Beds were very comfortable and pillows were fantastic. The hand soap fell apart which was strange. AC was adjustable which is very welcome when guests do not want temps at 62 degrees, even if it is hot out.
