The staff was wonderful! The woman at the front desk was friendly and very helpful. I wish that the rest of the hotel had been as great as she was. While the rooms were technically clean, there was mold everywhere. Specifically in the bathrooms. Our group had 4 rooms and all of them were full of mold, particularly in the showers. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean, but the mold was very gross and off putting. Would not recommend staying at this hotel, particularly if you have allergies or mold sensitivities. However, I would like to highlight again that the woman who checked us in was kind, friendly, and very helpful.

I travel to Charleston regularly, and this is where I always stay. I love the pool area and having breakfast in the beautifully landscaped courtyard. I have to assume that the hotel is under new management, because the hotel seems to have gone down hill the last couple years. The last time I stayed, a young girl used her key card and walked into mine and my daughter's room- we were accidentally double booked! We had just checked in, so luckily no one was showering or anything, but that was big safety concern. This trip, the pool was temporarily closed. Someone broke one of the lights inside the pool, and they had to close it until someone could fix it. That's understandable as we were told it was hanging and wires were exposed, but by the looks of the branches and debris around the pool, it didn't look like the hotel was in a hurry to get it up and running. There was no notice online at the time I booked the room, nor were we offered any type of refund/upgrade.
