I was scammed by the staff, then they told me I couldn't leave until I paid for damages. Unfortunately everything was great up until this point.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this hotel. The buildings are very old and the rooms don't even have a mini fridge — in a hot destination like Cancun, having no way to keep water cold in your room is a real problem. The location is also a major downside. It's far from everything you'd actually want to do in Cancun, and any taxi ride costs at least $50, which adds up quickly. The food was basic and not tasty. I was looking forward to fresh tropical fruit, but what was offered didn't look fresh and the variety was poor. Also, if you arrived a little late for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you'd only find leftovers — no fresh food was prepared for late arrivals. The pool is small, and the waterpark shown on the website looks poorly maintained — I wouldn't feel safe bringing kids to it. The one genuinely positive thing: the staff. They were kind, helpful, and clearly doing their best. Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying here, not even for one night.

We have so much to say about the hotel. First- the room we got the toilet wasn’t flushing down well, we were afraid of it. Second- the fridge was old and in very bad shape and a no working condition, no microwave, no coffee machine. They charged us $1000 pesos for the view of the room which is worth to see the Ocean in the morning not doubt. The Pool was dirty when we got there. The drinks which we paid All Inclusive were bad, made out of cheap alcohol or no alcohol at all. The nightly shows were different from the last time we were there. Food was the same type of breakfast and lunch every single day, no variety. Serves were short sfaff and we were getting our food for dinner 30 minutes later and whatever was left because they didn’t have enough for everyone there. I feel they charged way too much for the services they offered. Very very disappointed 😢 of the hotel.

I'm giving this resort two stars primarily because the property itself has the potential to be very clean. However, the maintenance timing needs work; staff usually clean the pool in the morning, but throughout the day, the water fills up with floating plastic cups and candy wrappers. Additionally, while there are three restaurants on-site, only one was typically open during our stay—likely because it is currently the off-season. Finally, while the price is budget-friendly and includes waterpark access, keep in mind that the waterpark is quite small with very few rides.

Al Ritmo is a budget all inclusive. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the location is ideal as you can walk to the ferry and many of the boat tours pick up locations like Cancun Sailing, whale shark cancun etc.
