Whilst on the fringes of Annan itself you can easily walk into the centre of the town where you can enjoy a range of pubs and restaurants, or even take in a film at the local cinema. The area has plenty to interest any age with its many and varied attractions in the surrounding area. From the many historic sites and castles spread throughout the region, to the rugged coastline with lots of little sandy coves, beaches and cliff-top walks to explore. Just along the coast is Powfoot, created in the 1790s as a sea-bathing resort. Set just above the beach, it has an excellent golf course, one of several along this coast. In July enjoy the spectacle of ’Annan Riding of the Marches’, a cavalcade of more than 100 horses riding through the streets of the town.
