Nice cheap clean place to stay

Location was good for walking into Woodbridge. Parking was good. Unfortunately we were woken at 7.30ish with a loud noise which sounded like some sort of extractor this followed by bleeping noises and numerous people talking so I think that was our cue to get up as we had to be out by 10am. An early departure time of 10am was given. The room was ok, a bit dated but fine for one night. Some areas of the bathroom need attention or replacing. We didn’t have breakfast or dinner so cannot comment. The hotel is right on the A12. We shut the windows so we didn’t hear the traffic noise. Overall it’s ok for one night. We did think it was overpriced for what it was. We didn’t see anyone when we left at 10 as we would have made our issues about the noise in the morning to him. If you are an early riser it won’t be a problem for you. Unfortunately it was a late night for us so a lay in would have been nice.

The place was nice and clean and the staff were very friendly, however everything else let the place down. I booked a single room with what I assumed was an ensuite bathroom, however upon arrival I was told it was a separate bathroom at the end of a corridor. Nowhere on the website or description does it say that it was a separate bathroom, and the photos and description imply that it is ensuite. I would have never have booked this room had I have known, and definitely not have paid such a high price for this room. The bathroom was just a tiny shower room that had a ridiculously tiny mirror over the toilet, (even though there is lots of space over the sink for a full mirror), so it was nearly impossible to shave properly. I understand it was a small space, but could be planned better. The room was fine, however the mattress was really old and so soft that it dips in the middle, so you literally sink into it. The room is next to a generator or boiler of some sort, as there is a constant humming sound through the wall next to the bed and feels like you have tinnitus or some hearing condition! Some of the channels of the TV don't work properly. And to top it all off, someone arrived late (after 10pm) and started to ring the door bell numerous times trying to get in, it was so loud, it felt like the bell was outside my door. Overall not a pleasant stay, especially not worth the money they are charging for it.

I stayed here during my house move. The new team were helpful and friendly and the hotel is well maintained if rather basic. I am sure that once the staff have settled in and learned the ropes, it will be a comfortable place to stay.

Limited plug sockets meant charge phone, watch TV, charge hearing aids or using fan/hairdryer/lamp etc became a juggling act. Final payment was taken before I left without my consent or presence.
